An important factor when selecting a new tennis racket is the size of the grip. Getting this wrong can impede your
shot making and more importantly it can cause injury. Here is a brief guide to help you select the right grip for you.
If you have a racket to measure against -
1. Take hold of the racket as if you are shaking hands with it
2. Look at the inside of your hand - There should be roughly a 1 cm gap (or a
fingers width) between your fingers tips and the ball of your thumb
3. Locate the grip size - usually written on the butt cap or somewhere near the
top of the grip.
If you don’t have a racket to measure against -
Measure the distance from the skin crease nearest your wrist to the tip of your ring finger. This will give you the grip size.
